Intro to Woodcarving and Whittling

What: This introductory course on wood carving with knives explores various techniques from whittling and spoon carving traditions. Students will learn essential skills such as knife sharpening, safe cutting methods, and grain direction analysis. Participants will gain hands-on experience with various tools like hook knives, gouges, rasps, and files. The curriculum also introduces decorative embellishment techniques, providing a comprehensive foundation in wood carving artistry. All materials will be provided.
